Earth Hour

Earth Hour is today from 20:30 – 21:30 (or 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm for those not on the 24 hour clock).

How will you spend it?

Although, I do find it a bit odd that they suggest on their front page that people upload things to the internet during Earth Hour. Doesn’t that sort of defeat the purpose to turning things off? (After a bit of digging around, I found someone else already made the same connection.)

I think the ideal way to spend Earth Hour would be to have a Block Party. Get to know your neighbors and spread the word. 2 birds, 1 stone.

  1. We spent Earth hour at the Andromeda Society star party at JTNP. If people turned off their lights, we didn’t notice it. The city lights of Joshua Tree didn’t change at all. The headlights of all the cars was unbearable.

But we did see Saturn and her rings!

Waldo and I took a walk around the neighborhood during Earth Hour. I was disappointed with how few people participated. We saw way too many houses with lights on everywhere and cars driving around.
