General Fiber Posts

Gone Fiberin’

I’m off to spend 5 days with Judith — 2 days of spinning, 3 days of weaving, sponsored by Carolina Homespun. This is the first time that my 18 month old loom will be warped. I just need to get the loom into the back of the station wagon.

More when I get back.

October Batts

Abby has been battling with the US Postal Service, but I finally received my October batt club package today! Even though I saw my postal delivery person scan the package, the website still shows no activity since Abby shipped the package on November 1st. It only took over 3 months to work through the system. (Eyes rolling here.)

So, if you’ve been waiting for your package, but the delivery confirmation still shows no movement, don’t lose hope. They are finally on their way to their destinations!

I’m off to Seattle tomorrow for Madrona later this week. I can’t wait! But first, laundry and packing.

Madrona Fiber Arts

Now that it’s officially 2008, the countdown to the Madrona Fiber Arts Winter Retreats officially begins. 6 more weeks to the retreat! I can’t wait.

A quick glance at the website shows a couple of things:

  1. Class Supply and Homework list is up! No homework for me, just the usual spin and knit paraphernalia.
  2. Now that they’ve clean up the registration issues, there are still openings left in some of the primo classes. Now’s your chance to go and sign up, if you haven’t yet. Energized singles with Kathryn Alexander? Handcoverings with Nancy Bush and Judith MacKenzie-McCuin? Choosing Colors for Fair Isle Knitting with Janine Bajus? Come on. You know you want to!

See you in Tacoma!
